Why not do it now and then. If we want to be technical about it, the real millennium isn't for about 4 years or so. No one really knows for sure exactrly when the real AD 0 was. We are going on an assumption that most authorities agree is wrong by about 4 years. So what really matters to us locals is that we must start numbering our checks at the beginning again, as in 1/1/00 after 12/31/99. That is the big change for me, so I say this is the big year. And if I feel like it, next year can be big too! And, heck, why not 2001 for the Space Odyssey, or 2002 for symmetry...
