Subject: 85 Vanagon partscar
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi everyone,

I'm taking apart a 1985 vanagon in preparation for taking the carcass to the crusher. If anyone is interested in parts, please E-Mail me directly,as I am not presently on the list.

The specifics:

1985 economy model, dark blue with 224 000 miles. This van was originally built for a van conversion company, so it does not have any interior behind the front seats.

The following major parts are already spoken for: engine, ecu, airflowmeter, gas-tank, rear bumper, front seats, heatercores, windshield.

The front doors are in good shape, dark blue, without the grey stripe, with black interior panels. The tailgate is in god condition. The sliding door has a dent in it, but is otherwise OK. (new style, fits 85 on.) missing exterior door-handle on sliding door. 4-speed transmission in good condition. (It's actually from an air-cooled vanagon, with an adapter to fit the watercooled.) Instrumentcluster with analog clock. Manual steering rack.

I'm hoping to be able to take the carcass to the crusher after next weekend (Oct 17). I need the space in the driveway for the winter...

If you're interested in any parts, please call me at 978-922-4617 or E-mail me directly at ErikValeur@AOL.com (I'm not currently on the Vanagon list). The van is located in Beverly, Massachusetts. (that's on the coast northeast of Boston, next to Salem, MA) I'm not looking to get rich on this, I'd just rather see the parts put to use than getting crushed.

I'm willing to ship SMALL parts, but I don't really want to get into shipping large items, like tranny & doors.

Erik V.
