Hello list, this post is in response to the couple of recent posts regarding syncro-vibrations. A non-list syncro owner friend (a German engineer type) just replaced his u-joint with a "Weasler 200-8370". He was able to get this from a local tractor supply store for around thirty dollars. This is a German tractor u-joint. This was cross referenced from the Bandioli-Pavesi series 3 part number (41203?). The Neapco part # listed in the archives is not quite right and there have been some people using shims to get this part to work. He "just pounded it in with a hammer" and it is running perfect and true once again. According to my friend, the drive shaft is already a balanced unit, and should not have to be balanced again with the right u-joint. I hope this helps. Tim Root 84 Vanagon 90 Fox Wagon 97 Jetta |
