the longest that i know of was one semester ... fellow i knew in graduate school in biology lived in his camper for a whole semester, getting up early to go over to the chemical engineering building where they have the oh-my-god-i've-spilled-something-horrible-on-me showers. the only problem he had was that he had to move the camper every day, or the campus police started getting curious about an "abandoned" car. :)

but one semester was all he could take. he got an apartment when the spring semester started. :)
