In my previous post the reference to "improve the longevity" was not meant to imply the conversion was fraught with reliability problems. It was meant to state the nuances which detracted from total buyer satisfaction should be worked out. Hence the willingness of the independent VW dealer to do a conversion for someone who wanted it and was willing to put up with any shortcomings.
