Potential for a captive audience for advertising revenue from those dopey, dancing baloney, web banners that take forever to load over my 28.8-33.6 connection (my phone lines wont do anything over that--USWorst has a slick system in place to clip the bandwidth).

My two bits? If they want advertising, I'd support an ad message posted maybe one or twice a week from a sponsor.

Many lists that run over listservs have archives. Of course, archives cost money, searchable archives cost even more money (or time, or resources).
