Grant,

It just occurred to me that if you suspect that an electronic component is
at fault when you experience the hot start problem try  some "cold spray "
on the various suspects, one at a time, and see if you can isolate the
offender.

P.S. you can get the spray at electronic supply shops, maybe even Radio
Shack?
