Sorry Steve, but it doesn't fit! Does look like a good template for additional LCD displays on the front face.

Frank, I'd like to see a picture of how your console is installed.

You can see a pic on my website of the console on the dash of an air-cooled vanagon. It fits fine with no modifications.

Is it a perfect fit? Maybe not. I think the part in question here is that the unit sits on top of the pad on the front of the dash. If you want a perfect fit with no slight gap on the sides, you would need to trim the front of the console to match the contour of the dash pad.

I've sold about 15 of these and this is the only one that I've heard there were any problems with. I had a run on them recently at BBTA, and everyone there was able to try them out on their Vanagons before they made the purchase. No one returned them.

If this was not an acceptable product I wouldn't be selling it. Frank's opinion is the first negative one I've heard and I appreciate the feedback. I will take this into consideration when it comes time to order more, and I will share Frank's comments with anyone asking about this unit in the future.

Other than special orders, everything I offer can be returned if you're not happy with it. (but before you put it under the knife)
