Our 88 westy 4 spd with 130,000 miles on the original engine consistently
gets 20 mpg in town and 22 on the road--same as my Saab, which is a lot
smaller, lighter, and more aerodynamic.  a/c doesn't seem to affect our
mileage on the highway either.  Didn't know we were so lucky!
