i was basically talking about the ur-Bus.  (the prefix "Ur" means Original)
while the vanagon is still a "T2" - (maybe the "T" in T2 refers to
"transporter"?) it isnt a Type 2.  It's the Type 3 version of the T2.  Like
the different Jettas (A1, A2, A3 Vento, A4 Bora)
Part number prefixes will tell you which type it is. All Bug part numbers
usually begin with "1" because it was a type 1.  Audi does the same thing.
All '84-'91 Audi's are called type 44's, and all their part numbers begin
with "44"
most all part numbers on the '79 down type 2 Buses began with a "2".   The
vanagon still carries some part numbers that begin with "2"  The eurovan isnt
a type 2 or T2, its a T4. No eurovan part numbers begin with "2".

Vw buses are aircooled ....
go to a vw show, and ask the aircooled crowd if i am right.. :<)
