THEY ARE CHEAP ADDED THINGS COST THEM LOTS OF MONEY! I spent 15 hours alone cleaning my case to ensure it was CLEAN, I wanted NO LEAKS..., I spent 4 hours blue printing and matching my oil pump inlet and outlet to my case in order to maximize oil flow and pressure. Would VW spend the time? NO VW has tolerances...
Just because they did not put it there does NOT mean it is help full, BUT IF VW did have it there I would Question the removal of it. The bottom line it is NOT cost effective for VW to do this. THEY BUILD them to FAIL in time, or else they would not sell any more cars or parts... Why did VW drop the Vanagon?? It lasted too long to be profitable, they get you hooked on a product and them switch it with an inferior one...
