In the interest of expanding our knowledge, can you give us an detailed on just what occurred and how the thread became stripped.

I ask this question NOT with the idea of embarassing you. I understand that Murphy's Law can and does happen. But by telling your story, some other of us might just be able to avoid the dreaded stripped drain plug .

I always tighten the plug by hand at least four to six turns of the plug before I let a spanner ( wrench ) look at the plug.

Once again I am not trying to embarass, just advise everyone of the pitfalls.
