Subject: bad radiator fan sending unit
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Well folks,

I have been tinkering with Frieden's cooling system and I have discovered that the radiator fan sending unit is bad. I used Ken Wilfy's jumper wire test. The fan runs at both speeds but the sensor won't activate it. The temp guage sits on or just to the right of the LED most of the time. (this van is new to me so no flames please).

When I take out this sensor is coolant going to pour out all over the place? If so, is there any way to re & re without haveing to lose all that coolant and bleed etc.?

For now I am using the jumper wire to run the fan on low whenever I drive, but it's a pain in the butt to install and remove it every time I go out.

I just replaced the expansion tank and cap because the old one was cracked and leaking.
