Bob, On my 90 Westy Syncro the water faucet has an internal check such that when water is pumped from the on board tank water is blocked from entering the city water hose that runs to the city water hose hook up. If your water faucet. works like the later model vanagons, then you may have a bad seal inside your water faucet.
