Why should the reliability be shortened? Remember that you US guys have low-comp engines, because of your lousy gas!! The 2,1 has originally 10,5:1 comp, vs. the measly 9,0:1 on the MV engines you got!

The valves are identical on the 1,9 and the 2,1. Don't know the ports, though. Some carb'ed 1,9s have smaller valves, but not the fuel injected version.
