No, you need to get lights from the Vanagon itself. The Golf A2 has different lights.

However, the A1 Golf (Rabbit in the US) has lights that fit your 67-79 type1, 68-79 type2 or 66-73 type3 (Fastback/Squareback) These lights are not of the replaceable sealed beam version, these are complete units. I can get them from the FLAPS for $25 each though (new).
