YOU SHOULD have sprung big bux for a collapsible Porsche spare in 15".

What trashes the VC is heat. So if you go slow enough...say <10MPH you can enjoy the view, listen to your favorite CD again (and again) and tiddle on home.

OR you could use a Serious 12V air compressor and the string repair kit and get it done on site, continue on to your fave destination, go fishin, huntin, sun-bathin, walkin, power-loungin and tiddle on home at your own speed.

Done both. Fix of puncture is easiest. Ripped sidewall requires the Por$che spare.

Now if you have the time and the inclination you could simply loosen the FDU, take out the shaft, strap it up on the protector bar and run the usual spare.
