Looks like someone had too much time on their hands, a photo of the new
Bug, and PhotoShop.

Bulging curved fenders? Driver's peripheral view blocked by a pillar? No
sliding door? 5" of ground clearance?

It is a fun idea though.

I agree that it looks a little odd, but don't be too quick to laugh.  Time
after time I have seen or heard something I thought was bound to fail but I
was wrong.  I remember when the beetle was still a rarity people would
point and make disparaging comments (my first beetle had semaphores and it
wasn't very old) and the bus wasn't always cool.  I do think the "new bus"
needs a bit more ground clearance, though.
