(I'm still a little unclear about how to post a message to the list. I hope sending this e-mail is the correct way. If not please advise me. Hereis the message.

Subject: Westy Canvas Replacements

I'm a new owner of an '89 Westy Syncro which has a large rip in the canvas above the screened area. Must decide to patch or replace with new canvas and I'm seriously considering ordering a three window replacement. Would like reports from list members on quality and fit of aftermarket canvas from Bus Depot, Bus Boys or others.

Also would like to know about general care and treatment of canvas. The existing canvas seems very soft, absorbant and quite a bit less than waterproof. It soaks up a lot of water if it gets wet. Is this the normal condition? Does the canvas require treatment with something to improve waterproofing?
