Yes, John we run one of these in Vinnie our 85 GL Westy running the 1.9l Waterboxer. A VW rebuild with 35K miles on it. Yes, I was able to tell a noticible difference . Mileage is about 20.5 mpg running 70-75 interstate driving. It was 18.5-19 mpg before. But even with out a big mileage gain, the power band feels better from 2700 rpms and up. No difference in engine temps, CO settings, timing, or anything. We only have one located at the exit of the AFM before the throttle body. I think it's a 47mm? Just measure and order the closest one to your measurement. I had a mechanic in PA put mine in at discount for being the Guniea Pig on Vanagons. They had already been putting them in rally type Audis and such. They are stainless and can be squeezed to fit them in the tube. Like I said, I wish there was room for another before the throttle body, the "boost" would be even better. I like the one in Vinnie and will prolly run them on future cars as well. Other than that usuall disclaimers apply. Later,
