Hello Friends, Thank's to all the kind folks that responded to my original post. Now, when I'm much more educated (I took a peek at the archives too), I can see this is one of the most common problems of vanagons...:-( Also, just seeing the huge amount of postings to the vanagon list over the last few years I wonder: surely, this is a car full of problems (too advanced and complicated with some flunks also made by VW engineers). How come we all (including me...:-) hang on so hard to this pile of junk...(no flames please...:-) And now for a more serious question: before I fireup my gear and look under the hood: my haynes manual (pretty scarce on info compared to the Bentley, but I can't say I haven't been warned before buying it at 1/3rd the cost) mentions both Digijet and the more advanced (and recent) Digifant engine control systems. How can I know what I've got (mine is a 1990 GL, 2.1 Liter, 5 speed caravelle)? Is there some clear and simple indication (i.e some component missing/extra)? regards, Amnon ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 |
