Hi Volks:

A fellow listee asked me for a method to auto-route certain messages to the trash.

In other words - he doesn't want to read posts from a certain listee, and he wants them to not appear in his inbox, and instead go straight to the trash.

Here's how to set this up with Outlook Express:

<snip> , there is a way to auto-delete messages from any source - but it does have a drawback.

I am using outlook express - for other email programs, there is likely a similar procedure too.

1. Under "tools" - choose "Inbox Assistant"; 2. Click "add" in the dialog box to create a new rule; 3. In the "properties dialog box", do the following: 3.a. In the "from field", choose the email address from the that you never want to see again; 3.b. Under the "Perform the following action" section, select the checkbox next to "Move to" and select your "trash" folder.

You can experiment with the other types of "actions", to see if they work for you, perhaps more conveniently.

The drawback I had noticed, was that all my mail was being downloaded, and not accessible, until the rules were executed completely. If I had a lot of incoming mail - it took a few extra minutes of waiting time.

However - I didn't experiment - there probably was a better way to do it.
