Subject: Re: Hall effect sender question and stuttering

The black connector on the distributor housing needs to be straight. Sometimes the clips inside the distributor which hold it in place break. As the connector sags it can create shorts underneath the hall sender. This leads to occasional stuttering and is usually difficult to trace because it is irregular. It can be mistaken for other bad connections or water in the fuel.

Solution 1: replace connector (you have to take out the whole hall unit and readjust timing later)

Solution 2: take a couple of drops of 2 component epoxy and glue the connector in place from the inside of the distributor. Clean and degrease parts first.
