Huh? I did this exact upgrade to my '87 syncro. It should be plugnplay. Are the alloys the stock ones that came on later model vans? You need to replace the steel lug nuts with an 'acorn' style.

Hello Listees, I'm upgrading the stock steel wheels on my "87 vanagon syncro to vanagon alloys. My problem is the studs pressed into my wheel hubs are not long enough. I tried a search in the archives, but came up empty. Is replacing my studs with longer ones the best option? If so what length should they be replaced with? Any help would be appreciated. Joe F.
