I just go a set of Michelin MXT 's for my "88 GL. Nice tire on the highway. I have had no problems in rain. But they are not "M +S" . I had an "85 GL in Alaska, and put on a set of new Goodyear all weather radials. The first wet/icey snow storm i started out for Anchorage and just out of town spun out in the middle of the road. I went straight to the tire dealer and got a set of all weathers with studs. NEVER had another problem. Those things gripped the ground like tiger paws with the claws extended. So, if I have any problems with the MXT's they get the stud reatment......provided I am back in Alaska by next winter. But it is a good way to go if you are in snow coundtry a lot. John Rodgers "R.
