Hi all, I'm getting my first experience with bolts and studs on my 2.1 block and have a question. I have found 2 bolts already that came out VERY hard. When I looked at them, it appears that some of the block came out with the bolts. The threads of the bolts have aluminum stuck in the threads. Is this normal, or did someone over-torque them or ??? These were the steel bolts holding the A/C mount to the block. Is there something I should use on re-assembly that will prevent this? What's the best way to get these things out without shearing them off? Also, how do you keep dirt out of all the ports and what not when taking things off? I had to take my air intake pipes off to access the bolts. I used tape to seal the holes while I was working. Is there a better way? Thanks from a first-timer. JN |
