I'm wondering if there is a similar upgrade for my '81 calif vanagon alternator. I don't have my Bently handy, but I think it is a 65 A unit. I believe the newer vanagons had a 90 A alternator. Is there an easy swap that can be done to upgrade the air-cooled alternator to one of the later waser-leaker alternators (or any other higher amperage alternator)?
