Just doing some research on my dash mounted computer idea for the Vanagon (content). I found a nice deal on a PDA today. Philips Magnavox, NINO 210 PDA 8MB WIN CE-2.0 for only $184.60 at www.onsale.com. Backlit screen, voice recognition (it can obey voice commands), and has a serial port (to plug in our sender array setup). The only downside to this unit is that it is being phased out however it's successor is color, backlit and also reasonably priced at $267 (plus it has some other goodies that might allow me to listen to MP3 audio on the road as well which would be a plus for me - OTR fan).

Anyone have experience with the Philips Nino? Please pmail me. Last time I checked Philips was a German company so this would go along with the DM :)

Just think of cruising along with your engine information displayed and being able to change what information is displayed with a voice command (is anyone beside me getting excited yet?)
