we use a power inverter (89$) this connects to your 12 volt cigarette output and then you can plug any regular appliance into it; laptops, vcr, tv, etc. We use a 500 watt model and we can power the tv, vcr, and laptop all at once. if the battery voltage drops below 10.4 volts it has an alarm and shuts off automatically. You can watch a 2 hour movie easily. we have used the TV/vcr combo type as well as the individual units. One is just more convenient that the other. If you but the tv/vcr combo that plugs directly into the lighter you lose the option to power anything else. Good Luck. We got our power inverter at www.Damark.com

Hello Listees

I need a suggestion. We are thinking of buying a combo TV/VCR for the Westy and are undecided as to purchasing an ac/dc model or an ac only model using an inverter. The price difference is quite significant.

I am also thinking of purchasing one of Ed Morrell's ac/dc Video players and then purchasing a tv to use with it.

Any suggestions as to which way to go?

Thanks, Ralph
