John-

"What to bring" depends highly on your preventative maintenance. If you have doubts about any part of your van, replace it before the trip. Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan would be a very sucky place to have to repair/replace ANYTHING during the winter.

My wife and I took our 1976 on a 4 month/10,000 mile winter trip back in 1996-1997 and didn't bring anything but a pair of pliers and a couple screwdrivers. We didn't even need those. During the past 3 weeks, we put 4,000+ on our 1982 all over NC (Flood help, Camping, a wedding, and Mom in the hospital), and we don't have any tools or parts in it.

Prevent failure instead of planning on it.

Cheers,

i'm planning a 3 month ski trip around the US and Canada and was wondering what parts i should "definately" bring and what ones "would be nice to have".

Thanks to all in advance.
