Problems with carbs: Will automatically fail emmissions testing in most areas, will produce more polution, and and won't run as well as a stock setup in good condition. FI isn't that hard to work on if you take the time to learn a bit about it. If you buy this van, you should consider returning it to stock.

<excerpt>I'm going to take a look at an 81 Camper on Saturday - the engine does not run, but everything else sounds good. It does, however, have carbs instead of fuel injection. Anybody know anything about this - is it good or bad? I guess the FI broke, so a previous owner stuck the carbs on instead. Could this be bad for me if I want to get the engine rebuilt? Any comments would be most gratefully appreciated.
