Y2K approaches... really, shouldn't need plans if you have a welder and some angle iron. just build a steel frame to house the vw motor and an electric motor side by side. Run a fan belt from the alt pulley to the electric motor. You will need a dual pulley, one to drive the alt/fan, the other for electric motor(generator) for type 1. Of course, a type 4 motor would be easier, as cooling fan is direct drive, alt pulley could be used for generator drive, no double pulley necessary. I supposed one could find a motor that had AC and use that grove to drive gen.

Plug your battery charger into the generator outlet to keep the vw motor's battery charged. And put some good size casters on the frame work to make the rig somewhat portable.
