Dear List,

1) Can anyone reveal the secret to removing the rear view mirror from my 83.5 Vanagon, without destroying the rubber casing on the bracket?

2) Is there supposed to be a light behind the heater controls? If so, mine has been out so long that I have forgotten it ever existed. Also, would replacing the little bulbs over the gauges give brighter illumination?

3) Is it normal for the there to be a white, female connecter loose near the fuse panel? I am assuming the answer is "no," but everything seems to

be working, though heater fan and windshield wipers are erratic. Sometimes the fan doesn't go on; sometimes it doesn't go off, even when I turn the key off and remove it from ignition switch. Any thoughts would be greatly

appreciated.

4) I have many parts from a second 83.5 I am disassembling, seats for example. Let me know if you need something.

Woody
