Well, the fact that the very same wheel was used for ALL Transporters between 1971 and 1991 should ring a bell. There are very huge differences in the load ranges and tire requirements of the 1971 panel and the 1991 Syncro Westy Highroof etc, but still the same wheel. So, is the stock steel wheel under dimensioned for the 1991, or very over dimensioned for the 1971? I guess on the latter. I have yet to see any wheel get destroyed, that hasnt been in a collision or similar. PerL 87 Syncro 112i |
