Not only are these trenches dangerous, the studded tires create so much dust in dry periods that our capitol, Oslo, has recently forbidden the use of studded tires in the city, with day tickets for cars from other parts of the country. Imagine that studded tires have been on the market for 30 years, and 10 years ago 99,9% of all Norwegian cars used these in the winter. Now, some 40% uses studless tires instead, with growing numbers. Some countries in Europe have totally forbidden studded tires, because of all the dust and general wear on the roads. Oh, my tires?
