Ralph - it sounds like your tank may, in fact, be full or the 10% valve
automatic shutoff is not functioning properly. I recommend that you have it
checked out at Suburban Propane in Grove City. Their phone number is
614.875.6351. Suburban's 'technical' guy, Roy, is really knowledgeable.
In early October, I discovered that the bleed screw on the 10% valve of our
'new' 85 Westy was seized and also could not find anyone locally who even
appeared to have any knowledge of our tanks - including Post's. I attempted
to gingerly open the valve (many thanks to all the listmembers who offered
advice) but, sure enough, the bleed screw snapped off.
Roy replaced both the 10% and fill valves and checked out the cylinder; all
for a very reasonable price. For propane alone, you might try Flying J on
I-71 North in Sunbury. Suburban supplies their propane and Roy notes that
he's trained their employees that fill RV tanks - they should be competent
to fill your tank.
Hope this helps and good luck!
Todd
