Maybe not much difference in empty weight, but can you fit six scuba divers and their gear in a Passat? (It's almost Friday)

According to the Haynes, the 2wd Van weighs between 1400 and 1600 kgs, a Passat 2,8 (which I guess is the most common model in the US) wieghs 1480

kgs. Not much difference as I see it.
