Rainer

Hi.....i think ill probably change tyre size from 195...upto 205... this will increase my gearing by 10%....this will correspond to a speed of approx 95km/hr and bit more relaxed motorways. the gearing at present is superb for off roading and it feels as if you could go anywhere!!!!

Definitely not. At least if my speedo and tach are working correctly. My Syncro is doing 3400 rpm at 100 km/h. It's a 2.1 l FI and the tires are stock 205R16.

But (and that's what I forgot to mention in my last post): off-road-wise bigger tires are not necessarily better, because though increasing ground clearance, they are also decreasing slow creeping abilities.

Thus your gear ratio is probably preferable off road, while mine is clearly preferable on road. Now we only need a way of combining our two Syncros into one without losing either of these abilities ... :-)

Sincerely Rainer
