Subject: Ignition Switch & CV question
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

More questions...

While driving on the highway, between 50 & 55mph I get a vibration hum coming from the front of the car ('85 Westfalia). It disappears as soon as you drop below 50 or above 55. The car was diagnosed as having torn boots and lose CV joints (ball joints? difference? I don't have the exact paperwork with me), which I assume is causing the problem (it also has blown shocks which I'm going to be replacing in about a week). My question is, what will the degradation of these parts lead to? Steering problems or steering failure?

Also, following posted advice, I'm going to switch the ignition switch on the van, hoping that will solve the problem of my enging continually dying. The question is, what exact parts am I looking to replace? I just don't want to walk in somewhere and be sold a whole new electrical system...or at least be told that I need one. And again, if anyone knows the basic procedure for this operation (which I'm sure isn't that hard), I'd love to get a rundown.

thanks much, Connal cmmhughes@hotmail.com
