Mark, I don't know what to tell you. I figure with something as critical as wheels, I don't take chances. I use wheels that are made for the vehicle and not any others. Just think if you had an accident because of your Passat rims and hurt or killed someone or just caused alot of damage. Or even if your rims didn't cause the problem but your tire just blew. The insurance company folks and lawyers would skin you alive for not having Vanagon specific wheels on the van. Thats my opinion.

I learned from the aircraft industry that you always need to cover your rear.
