HMMMM, I live in Virginia, last time I checked, it was in the east. Where is this east coast with the cheap Westy's? Sorry. don't mean to be a smart ass, Chris, but from my 4+ years of being involved with Westy's ( Bays), and from my extensive travels to California and Arizona, I'd say west coast prices are much better, although they have been rising, I believe mainly due to the internet, and west coast folks seeing ads like "76 Westfalia, from California, rust free, $7,000.00" Does anybody actually pay this much for one? A quick look yesterday at air-cooled classifieds on the type2 list showed several buses in the $7-12K range. I coulda had a '79 Deluxe I found in Phoenix for around 4K, and it was by far the most perfect Bay I've ever seen ( next to Bob Busick's '69). That same Westy here in the east would go for 7-8K, based on what I've seen. Jeff S.
