Does the leak stop after a fashion? If so, you may have a broken tank bracket. You're gonna have to crawl under you bus and look at the brackets that support the tank. If one is broken, it will cause the tank to tip to one side. Repair the bracket and the leak should go away.

Dear List,

I would appreciate any quick advice on this one, because I fear it is dangerous.

The last two times I have filled my gas tank, there has been dramatic leaking ... at least a quart or two pouring out from under the car. The first time I just assumed that the attendant had "over-filled" (though that had never happened before and common sense told me it should be impossible). The second time made me think that there must be a leak somewhere near the top of the tank, since a certain amount pours out and then there is no further sign of dripping.

Has anyone had this problem? Where do I look to see what is going on? Is it safe to repair a leak like this or am, I looking a new tank? Would it be safe to take the old one from my parts car?

Thanks in advance to one and all!

Woody
