<< The last two times I have filled my gas tank, there has been dramatic leaking ... at least a quart or two pouring out from under the car. The first time I just assumed that the attendant had "over-filled" (though that had never happened before and common sense told me it should be impossible). The second time made me think that there must be a leak somewhere near the top of the tank, since a certain amount pours out and then there is no further sign of dripping.

Has anyone had this problem? Where do I look to see what is going on? Is it safe to repair a leak like this or am, I looking a new tank? Would it be safe to take the old one from my parts car? >>

theres a seal where your filler neck goes into the tank. the rubber rots. common prob. the one on your parts car is prolly just as bad. replace the seals.
