obviously theyre different part numbers, as theyre diff sizes, styles. the V8
used a 15" w/ a 30 something offset, and the A8 uses a 16 w/ 37mm  and a 17
w/ 35mm the A6 used a 15".  dont know the weights, but the V8/A8 is one
helluva tank.  once again, stuff is overengineered... look at the
construction/thickness etc of a vanagon carat 14" alloy compared to the 15"
audi type44 turbo alloy.  nearly identical.  they only way you'll damage the
wheel is by running it into a curb, or in a collision, just like any wheels
out there no matter what car, no matter how much it weighs.  remember the
steel wheels on the '71 bus are the same EXACT steel wheel used on a '91
westy syncro.  and i do believe the westy syncro weighs more...
