Tim,

>This weekend I am changing my back brake pads and am planning on replacing >the brake fluid while I am at it. The Bentley manual gives amounts of fluid >to drain out of each cylinder

What page?

>but it doesn't mention anything about the >clutch system. Am I correct that the brakes and the clutch share the same >fluid and I should have to drain some from the clutch cylinder also?

The two systems share the same resovoir, but that is all. If you look at the right side of the resevoir you will see a cloth-covered rubber hose that supplies fluid to the clutch master cylinder. There is no need to bleed the clutch except to change the fluid.

>Which order should I bleed the clutch in? After the two rear brakes or what?

It is functionally separate from the brake system so bleed it whenever you wish and just keep topping up the fluid level in the resevoir.

>I don't have a pressure bleeder or any of that nice stuff so would I bleed the >clutch the same old fashioned way as bleeding the brakes?

Yes.

>The Bentley doesn't say much about the clutch system and the two together >so I figured >someone might have experienced this themselves and could help me out. >Thanks. Tim Vogelin 84' Wolfsburg.

You're welcome
