not sure... but one of the euro listmembers w/ a syncro 16" can tell you that.. as far as the A8 wheels - i have two currently on my '86 5kT... (they're the 16x7 et37 five spoke alloys) this week i'm gonna try them on the vanagon, and see how they fit. i will let everyone know how the fitment is with the 37mm wheel, tho the 35mm one would be a better choice, i think.

BTW, the 16" A4 wheel and the 16" A8 wheel are totally identical except for the offset. the A4 has the same offset as the type44 turbo alloy (for you non-audi fans the type 44 is the 5k/200 models) which, is 45mm. the A8's had more of an offset to space the wheel out more from the car, some being 37mm (like the ones i have) and other are 35mm.
