Gerry,
We are having the same problem.
                But now the problem.....it starts but
won't keep running more than 5 to 10 seconds.  I
My husband bypassed the ignition switch ( hot wired) and it still died after
5 seconds. Is there anything else we can check? It sometimes smells like it
is flooding. All vacuums check out fine.
