If by "stock" you mean the "moon" caps that are normally seen on Bugs these are still being made. The quality of the new ones is not at good as the originals ("VW" stamping is not at sharp). I suppose these can be had at near any foreign car flaps. If you want the original moons grab a phone book and look under "foreign car repair" or "VW repair". What you are looking for are the "Hole-in-the-wall" type places you often see on the side of the road. Usually with a small selection of junkers in the back yard. These guys will have a cardboard box in the back of the garage where they throw anything that looks like it might come in handy someday. One or two original hub caps will be in that box. You may have to look around for a while to gather a pristeen set but it can be done. Around here the going price is $5 each. They fit fine and look great om my 83.5.

Hi I am badly in need of some nice hub caps for my '82 Diesel Vanagon. Does anyone have a good used set of stock caps they would like to sell? The original spoke type are $50 each brand new. Thanks Jim |
