Eric, Maybe you better take a couple of Valium and try browsing the early ('94) archives. Yes, there's a lot more 'fluff' now than there was then. But, we have a LOT more people here than we had then. And there was a fair amount of 'fluff' then. When I joined the list, there were only a couple of hundred of us. You get more people, you get more bandwidth used on subjects like Ken's new kid and the like. (Mavel tov, Ken!) And yes, I also now delete wholesale. It comes with the population. If you really are so disgusted with what this list has evolved to, why not start another one. ONElist is free and since Mr. Carrington has been keeping Gerry so happy, there's really no reason to continue the 'Spare Vanagon' list. I'd be more than happy to transfer vanagon@onelist to your care. With your own list, you can make any rules you see fit. Technical discussion only. Try to get to know anyone or anything about something other than 1980 to 1991 Volkswagen Type 2s and you're outta here and such. It's real easy to make and enforce any rules you choose. IF it's your list! Just an alternative. Jim Arnott List Administration Spare Vanagon |
