If you wish to remove your SA Grill simply to access the bleeder bolt on the radiator, you may be able to do this without removing the grill. I successfully put a 13mm crescent wrench onto the head of the bleeder bolt through the gap between the grill slats. I could not use the 12pt box end of the wrench because that end is angled and the slats were in the way, but the crescent end is not angled and I could get it on the bolt head just fine. I did not actually loosen the bolt as I was not ready right away to do my bleed job (and it was damn cold out in the garage!), but with a wrench that is "flat" I don't see why it wouldn't work, and possibly saving you the heartache of breaking the plastic grill. If this works for someone, let us know. Tony Anthony L. Mourkas Hampden, Maine, USA 1984 Vanagon Westfalia 1987 Vanagon GL Syncro 1991 Jetta Eco Diesel |
